So, drawing software for the 3DS, well technically two of them are for the DSi and those two are actually the same game…ANYWAY, Art Semester First and Second season I highly recommend to anyone wanting to start drawing. The lessons involved are exactly the fundamentals I got taught from a conventional drawing 101 class (which I stupidly didnt take any notes on) and I paid a good bit for those! Having them accessible in a little DSware title is great practice. The tools are powerful and it amazes me how accurate the strokes can be on a (3)DS. First semester deals with the tools and mostly the basics. Second Semester starts on things like expressionism and more advanced stuff, it is also worth noting that during the lessons you see examples from a few great painters. It’s a great little program and 15 or so for both of them is a steal. I personally feel they should be included in every 3DS.

The next is one i’ve not had much time with but amazes me with its toolset, Colors! 3D is a true 3DS title that allows you to paint with 5 layers for a 3D effect. I’ve not had the chance to start on a painting on it but I felt I should mention it. Some of the included examples with the software are downright amazing and should be looked into. At $7 or so on the 3DS store its more than worth your time. Personally I would use Art Academy for the lessons and Colors! 3D for the toolset. They’re both worth your look and are a great thing to add to your 3DS.
